Friday: New York to Seattle, WA

The journey began in Connecticut (CT) right after work on a Friday afternoon, headed to the airport in Queens, New York. Michele drove the car while I tried to get in vacation mode. We made it to the airport with 45 minutes left before departure time. A meetup was scheduled to take place at 6 PM, Friday at Terminal 5 (T5) in JFK.

The Flight crew aboard flight 68 from NY, JFK to Seattle, SEA were very professional and cool as well. They really love their jobs and you everyone was able to determine that once boarding the plane. There was a slight possibility that I might’ve had to check my carry-on luggage in due to other passengers having excessive bags. Luckily, Robin (A Male JetBlue flight attendant) found an open overhead compartment in the front of the plane and placed my luggage there. He walked back to my seat, even thought I never told him where I was sitting, and informed me on the whereabouts of my bag. Robin also took the time to speak about our #AYCJ experience so far which intrigued our guest, later to be known as: Armitage Shanks.

Armitage Shanks (Ringmaster/Singer/Flaneur) was traveling back to Seattle (home) after being in New York for 2 weeks directing: “Zero Boy’s Fantastic One-Man (Freak) Show”. Being that I had an over abundance of “7 Select” beef jerky snack sticks product, I decided to share them with whomever I thought was friendly or cool. You can view the peace offering, act of paying it forward here:

We’ve landed in Seattle and after a quick restroom visit we’ll be on our way to explore immediately. I received a phone call minutes after we landed from Armitage Shanks. He offered to split a cab with us, if we were still interested in going to “The Can Can Cabaret“. We obliged and were on our way to view the show.

I asked questions about the area along the way; as Armitage pointed out buildings and sightseeing locations to partake in. Bright lights, stadiums and a huge port for boats to dock in where backdrops along the drive into Downtown Seattle. Next, we arrived at the Can Can Cabaret, you can view a clip of the show here:

We had a great time and decided to call it a night shortly after viewing the show. The trip back to the hotel was quite interesting as well because the driver dropped us off at the wrong location. It all worked out in the end, which is what matters most. Below you will view my thanks to Armitage and feedback about the show.
